Hey everyone- happy new year!
It’s Ben here- researcher in Mina Foundation’s protocol governance team.
A few weeks ago, we published a blogpost that explored themes about trust and how to apply relevant principles for trustworthiness in examples of Mina’s social layer, such as Mina’s core development processes.
This draft blogpost continues this exploration by focusing on the relationship between validators and their delegators; ensuring validator participation in governance; and considering some emerging staking risks in DeFi.
It would be great for your feedback on the draft!
Some questions to consider include:
- What do you think are the most relevant methods and metrics to assess centralisation risks in proof stake crypto systems?
- What do you think are the best ways to align the interests of validators and their delegators?
- What do you think are the best ways to encourage validator participation in governance?
- What do you think about emerging staking risks in DeFi and how they might relate to Mina?
Please feel free to provide comments in the document linked above as you read or leave them here in MinaResearch.
We are planning to publish this blogpost next week so feedback before then would be great!
Best wishes
Ben
